Even the drought conditions we have experienced her in North Carolina did not damper spirits on this beautiful Autumn day. Jessica and Nathan exchanged vows and bonded themselves to each other on the heartfelt special day. For the first time I saw a 'sand ceremony' which entails the bride and groom pouring different colored sand from their respective vases into another one. Signifying the joining of their souls, it was a colorful and romantic part of the ceremony.

Matt from Dreamlight Films joined me for some fun and laughter as we filmed me photographing little Kallie at Duke's Mansion. In the near future featured on my website, you will be able to see the footage from the shoot and hear my interaction with my little subject. My aim is to give viewers a live view of what I am like at work and hopefully my strange South African/British accent will amuse you. Although a little rusty, my previous experience in front of a TV camera gave me enough food for thought to ad lib my way through this interview style promo. Watch this space for when it's ready.

Lindsey and her Mom joined me at the historic venue called the Duke Mansion to capture her bridal portraits, a long time southern tradition. The beautiful architecture, ornate decorations and colorful gardens made for a perfect backdrop for creating gorgeous bridal portraits. Lindsey made my job very easy as her lovely smile lights up the room and it was great fun exploring the venue and creating an ambience of romance. All us girls are excited about her upcoming wedding and I feel it has been a perfect way to determine the best photo opportunities when her big day arrives, I also enjoyed meeting her Mom too. I would recommend that every bride take up the offer of a bridal portrait as it is a great trial run for your hair, make-up and trying on your dress. It's ideal for discovering if your dress has any catchy buttons, if the hair style needs to be rethought, and the best poses for creating true romance on your special day. Lindsey was also very relaxed when I arrived on her wedding day as we both felt comfortable with the job at hand since we had got to know each other before.

An early phone call set my plans for the day and I headed out to Lake Norman regional hospital to capture the delivery, birth and very first moments of little Carson's birth day. I felt honored and privileged ot be part of such a special day and I just loved being able to capture baby's first hours. When my babies were born I never knew what exactly they did with baby directly after birth, and this occasion gave me the opportunity to find out. From the weighing, measuring and hearing test, Carson's birth day was captured with style. Did I mention she was the biggest newborn I've ever seen at 9lbs and 13 oz?
