It warms my heart to see a Mom and Dad loving on their little one. Their little toes, little nose and gorgeous grin, babies are heaven's gold and so worth the effort. Little Toby was a happy chappy and ready to pose with Mom and Dad for his very first portraits. A real pro well done Toby!
I had to do some convincing to persuade Liz to capture her maternal glow and I'm so glad I did she's a stunner! Most pregnant Moms I meet don't feel confident about their changing figures but this is such a wonderful time in our lives that it just HAS TO be documented (I admit I'm a sentimental romantic). You blink and its gone and all that will be left is regrets, nothing you can do about it then sorry. Irrespective of how we feel, we are leaving our children a legacy of the story of them to cherish for the future years. Believe me I know this first hand, my 9 year old asks the questions about how I looked pregnant with her and how she looked as a baby. I'm so glad I have a few photos she can appreciate.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Pregnancy make ALL women beautiful - there I've said it no arguing about it cos I KNOW I'm right!
Little Miss Stephanie has discovered her 'wheels' and boy can she motor! As any inquisitive 1 year old, she made sure she used every inch of the studio set and explored my new lighting setup. It's now far more conducive to busy toddlers as the lights now hang from the ceiling on scissor arms, so it's easy up and down and no worry of tipping over anything. Fabulous!
Every year I ''attempt'' to get some photos of my own two kids looking blissful and happy for our holiday cards. Every year I have high hopes for great success and every year I end up stressed out! Invariably our own kids know how to press our buttons and get us stirred up (pulling faces, objecting and general mayhem), so relying on a calm professional is best for great results. A word to the wise: don't try this yourself leave it to the professional! After much coaxing and face pulling I got some decent results that will have to do until next year when I consult another photographer to help me out...

Bags, pocket books, albums and frames. Everyone loves the gift of a photo this Christmas!
I love it when I get the chance to try something different and experiment with different techniques and props. When Kshama showed an interest in trying out the sari's I borrowed from my friend Nidhie (owner of Belly Elan) I got so excited! Although Kshama's favorite's were the simple contemporary images we did on the white background, I think we got a great variety that all her family can appreciate. We do try capture something for everyone so everyone is happy. Thanks Kshama you're a star!
Leila and Savannah had a blast with loads of laughs, tickles and fun during their annual portrait. These 2 lovely girls came in for their annual Christmas portrait and they were dressed for the season (I love red in portraits). Full of energy and excitement we had a fun time capturing their animated interactions. After a full work out chasing baby Savannah around the set Mom's comment was ''I don't know how you do this all the time!''. Mom was so relieved when we were done so she could relax from running around her busy babies. Who says I need gym with the job that I have? Great job Mom you did a stellar job! All I can say is that I love what I do and all the effort is completely worth the priceless moments we make together!
Update: Poor little Savannah had an awful burn accident on Thanksgiving day, please pray for a complete recovery!
Support Infant Loss Awareness month
With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.
President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, "A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members... " To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.
