Ask any women how she feels when she wears genuine diamond jewellery and the answer most probably will be that she feels like a princess! During the summer I had the fun task of photographing local model and actress, Gina Travis, for the article in Barbara McKay’s Fall/Autumn Premier Bride magazine. The article I had conceptualized and designed was to show brides how they can look like a movie star on their wedding day. Gina was a pleasure to photograph and after she got over her initial nerves of wearing $250,000 worth of diamonds kindly provided by Lions Jewellers of Ballantyne, Gina soon became Marilyn Monroe. I was aiming to achieve a George Hurrell ‘Hollywood’ look in the photos and Gina gave me exactly what I was looking for. Keep your eye out for Gina as an extra sitting on the train in the upcoming movie ‘Leatherheads’ starring and directed by George Clooney, as well as Renee Zellwegger. Our photo shoot took place just days after Gina appeared on the local North Carolina movie set and she still had stars in her eyes after meeting and speaking to George Clooney himself. Great thanks go to Chris Lanston, the best make-up artist I know, for doing a great job on Gina.
