Kelly & Bill's Wedding Day October 17th 2009

Kelly & Bill's engagement

Love at the Biltmore Estate

What a priviledge it was to share in Kristy and Judd's special day at such a magnificent venue, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville North Carolina. It's been so much fun working with this loving couple, and capturing their day was no exception. They started the celebration with their rehearsal dinner the Friday night in the underground Winery. The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Deer Park Restaurant in the open air courtyard, and we were able to take a visit to the main house on the Estate for the formal photos. The fascinating history of the venue is well worth a visit. Take a look at their wedding day slideshow here www.photolyrical.com/burleigh.htm

Dana & Simon's wedding

Celebrating love in the queen city of Charlotte. Dana and Simon chose to celebrate their union at the picturesque Francis Beatty Park and Monroe Country club. The day after the wedding Dana got back in her dress, had her hair and make-up done, and we headed for uptown Charlotte for their 'After party' photo shoot. The most hilarious part was that Simon is a fireman, and he had to call on his firemen friends to help us out when he locked his car keys in his car!

Bridal portrait's at the Duke Mansion

The Duke Mansion is a historic home nestled in the suburbs near uptown Charlotte. A perfect venue for capturing natural light portraits, I love the venue for its interesting backdrop. Kristy is an excited bride ready for her nuptials at the end of May at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. For this day, we took the time to capture some artistic looking portraits of her in her beautiful dress. It was a great opportunity for us to work together and for her to do a 'run through' with her hair, make-up and flowers. Something I highly recommend for all brides!

Bridal Portraits at the Duke Mansion

Lindsey and her Mom joined me at the historic venue called the Duke Mansion to capture her bridal portraits, a long time southern tradition. The beautiful architecture, ornate decorations and colorful gardens made for a perfect backdrop for creating gorgeous bridal portraits. Lindsey made my job very easy as her lovely smile lights up the room and it was great fun exploring the venue and creating an ambience of romance. All us girls are excited about her upcoming wedding and I feel it has been a perfect way to determine the best photo opportunities when her big day arrives, I also enjoyed meeting her Mom too. I would recommend that every bride take up the offer of a bridal portrait as it is a great trial run for your hair, make-up and trying on your dress. It's ideal for discovering if your dress has any catchy buttons, if the hair style needs to be rethought, and the best poses for creating true romance on your special day. Lindsey was also very relaxed when I arrived on her wedding day as we both felt comfortable with the job at hand since we had got to know each other before.
